Israel announces plans to build photovoltaic power plants in the occupied Palestinian territories

In areas where war and political conflict are frequent, energy supply issues have always attracted much attention. Recently, the Israeli Ministry of Defense announced plans to launch a 2,000-square-meter solar-plus-storage project in Area C of the West Bank to bring new energy solutions to conflict areas.

 It is reported that the project has started the bidding process and will be led by the Israeli Ministry of Defense. This decision is closely related to the current situation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Since the area is under Israel's full military control, the Ministry of Defense has the final decision-making power and can ensure the safety of the project and its consistency with Israel's strategic goals.

It is predicted that by 2050, Israel's total energy demand will be 1.5 times the current level, and electricity demand will be more than three times the current level. In order to meet this challenge, Israel has introduced three new energy roadmaps, namely "red, yellow and blue", in which photovoltaic power generation accounts for more than 50% in all three roadmaps. Energy storage systems will also play a key role in ensuring a stable supply of solar energy.
